Wind workers get a different view of workplace during 3-Bays marathon
2 November 2012
Portland wind workers will enjoy a different view of their workplace this weekend when they run or walk past the Cape Bridgewater Wind Farm whilst competing in the 3-Bays marathon.
Employees from wind farm owner Pacific Hydro and maintenance contractor REpower will compete in the full marathon, run relay and walk relay this Sunday.
Pacific Hydro general manager for Australia, Mr Lane Crockett congratulated those competing. “The 3-Bays marathon is an iconic Portland event and it’s wonderful to see so many local wind farm workers taking part,” Mr Crockett said.
“I’m sure all competitors will enjoy the spectacular views that the course offers – including the Cape Bridgewater Wind Farm.”
“I wish the Pacific Hydro teams the best of luck for the weekend’s event along with wind farm supervisor, Danny Halstead, who is tackling the full marathon.”
