Walking tours of Cape Bridgewater Wind Farm

11 February 2013

Pacific Hydro will be opening the gates of the Cape Bridgewater Wind Farm for free guided walking tours later this month in support of the Sustainable Living Festival 2013.

The tours will be arranged by appointment during the week of February 18 – February 22 and all are welcome – including community and school groups and interested individuals.

Pacific Hydro general manager Mr Lane Crockett encouraged people to take the opportunity to visit the wind farm.

“While many people will have seen the wind farms at Cape Bridgewater and Cape Nelson from a distance this is a rare opportunity to get up close to a turbine and talk to wind farm workers and learn about the project.”

“The Cape Bridgewater Wind Farm offers spectacular views and visitors will hear about the development and day to day operations of the wind farm,” Mr Crockett said.

Pacific Hydro is just one company across the state which will be opening their gates to the public during the month of February as part of the Sustainable Living Festival 2013.

Tours are able to be tailored to suit individual group needs. All participants must complete a brief induction and are required to wear long pants and enclosed shoes.

To book a tour please email Community Relations Coordinator Holly Marsh or phone 0437 662 783 (Mon – Weds).
