Portland Upwelling set to be a fun family-friendly event

2 November 2013

The Pacific Hydro Children’s Marquee at the Portland Upwelling Festival this Saturday [2/11/2013] is set to be a fun destination for children and adults alike, with a number of family-friendly activities on offer.

With face painting, colouring in, giveaways and even jellyfish making, the marquee will be a great place for children to have fun at the Upwelling Festival.

Pacific Hydro and its community partners – the Portland Coast Guard, the Victorian Wind Energy Alliance, Portland Blue Light, Friends of the Great South West Walk, Portland Men’s Shed, Jaycee Kindergarten and Portland SES – will be providing the activities free of charge.

“Pacific Hydro’s children’s marquee will provide a great space for our community partners to show off their many talents,” said Executive General Manager for Australia, Mr Lane Crockett.

“The Rotary Club of Portland Bay, that organises the event every year, does a fantastic job in organising the annual festival and Pacific Hydro is proud to be able to support the event through our Sustainable Communities Fund and by hosting the children’s marquee,” said Mr Crockett.

Those attending the Portland Upwelling Festival are encouraged to visit the Children’s Marquee along with the other culturally rich array of entertainment options and enjoy a family-friendly, fun day out.

The children’s marquee at the Portland Upwelling Festival will be open from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 2 November, on the Bentinck Street lawns on the foreshore in Portland.
