Nominations open for Clements Gap Fund Allocation Panel

How would you like to learn more about your community and the fantastic projects it is implementing? Pacific Hydro invites community members living in the Clements Gap area to help allocate the $50,000 Clements Gap Sustainable Communities Fund by nominating for a position on the Fund Allocation Panel by 28 February.
The Fund Allocation Panel has been implemented to further community involvement in allocating funding as well as increasing the transparency of the program.
Mr Lane Crockett, Pacific Hydro’s General Manager for Australia, invites community members to nominate for one of the four positions available on the Panel.
“The fund allocation panel has proven to be a resounding success and we hope people will see this as an exciting opportunity for the community to take more ownership of the selection process,” said Mr Crockett.
Ms Karen Pilkington, an active member of the Redhill community, sat on the inaugural Clements Gap Panel in 2013 and felt that the diversity of participants contributed to its success.
“Having representatives from each town eligible for funding ensured that the needs of all the communities were met,” said Ms Pilkington.
The Fund Allocation Panel will consist of the following members:
- Pacific Hydro’s Wind Farm Supervisor
- Three self-nominated staff members from Pacific Hydro
- Four self-nominated community members
- A representative from each Council who works with community groups (Barunga West District Council and Port Pirie Regional Council)
- Pacific Hydro’s Community Relations Coordinator who will facilitate the panel but will not have voting rights except in exceptional circumstances.
All self-nominated panel members from the community and Pacific Hydro will sit for one year only to provide an opportunity for a range of people to be involved. Nominations for positions on the Panel will open each year about one month prior to the Sustainable Community Fund call for applications.
Community members interested in nominating for a position on the Fund Allocation Panel in 2014 should contact Communications Officer, Remi Gordon on 03 8621 6478 or firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the role before completing a nomination form. Nominations must be received by 28 February.
The Clements Gap Sustainable Communities Fund opens on 4 March and closes 15 April.
