Last chance to apply to the Codrington/Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund

3 July 2013

With less than one week until the $50,000 Codrington/Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund closes on 16 July, Pacific Hydro is urging community groups not to leave their application to the last minute.

“Applications for the Codrington/Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund must be received by Tuesday 16 July,” said General Manager for Australia, Mr Lane Crockett. “To ensure applications are in on time, it’s a great idea to get started on them now.”

Community groups and organisations operating in Yambuk, Codrington, Port Fairy, Koroit and Orford are eligible to receive funding.

“If your group or organisation is working on socially and environmentally sustainable projects that need funding, we encourage you to get your application in by 16 July,” said Mr Crockett.

Grant applications will be assessed against the Fund guidelines and the inaugural Fund Allocation Panel will review the applications and allocate the grants.

The Fund Allocation Panel is comprised of four community members, four Pacific Hydro staff and a Council representative from the Moyne Shire Council.

“We’re excited by this opportunity to make the grant allocation process more transparent,” said Mr Crockett. “Allocating funds is always a difficult process, given the quality of applications, so I thank the community members who have volunteered to assist us in this process.”

Applications are accepted across five funding areas: sport and recreation, health and safety, art and culture, education and training and the environment.

Community groups who have not applied for funding in previous years are encouraged to apply.

“If you are unsure if your project is eligible, or how to apply for funding, please give us a call,” said Mr Crockett.
