Last chance to apply to the Codrington/Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund
4 July 2014
With just one week until the $50,000 Sustainable Communities Fund closes on 14 July, Pacific Hydro is urging community groups operating in Codrington, Yambuk, Port Fairy, Kirkstall, Orford and Koroit to begin their application now.
“Applications for the Codrington/Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund are due by 5pm on Monday 14 July,” said executive general manager for Australia, Mr Lane Crockett. “To ensure applications are in on time, it’s important that community groups get started on them today.”
“We welcome applications from all community groups or organisations working on socially and environmentally sustainable projects that need funding,” he said.
Grant applications will be assessed against the Fund guidelines and the Fund Allocation Panel will review the applications and allocate the grants.
The Fund Allocation Panel is comprised of four community members, four Pacific Hydro staff and a Council representative.
“Allocating funds is always a difficult process, given the quality of applications, so I thank the community members who have volunteered to assist us in this process,” said Mr Crockett.
Applications are accepted across five funding areas: sport and recreation, health and safety, art and culture, education and the environment.
Community groups that have not applied for funding in previous years are encouraged to apply.
“If you are unsure if your project is eligible, or how to apply for funding, please give us a call,” said Mr Crockett.
