Last chance to apply to the $50,000 Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund
8 September 2014
Pacific Hydro encourages community groups working towards economically, socially or environmentally sustainable projects within the Ararat Rural City to apply now for the Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund.
With applications closing at 5pm on Tuesday 23 September, now is the time to start writing an application that will see your organisation’s next project get off the ground.
Pacific Hydro Executive General Manager for Australia, Lane Crockett, encouraged groups of all sizes to consider putting in an application.
“Purchasing a digital camera, holding educational workshops, building playgrounds – no project is too big or too small to be considered,” said Mr Crockett.
“In the past we’ve funded smaller projects such as the purchase of a digital camera to record historical artifacts and the installation of LED lights in sports clubrooms, to bigger projects including the upgrade of Cemetery Creek track and building of playgrounds.”
“The Fund Guidelines have been designed to ensure a large number of groups are eligible to apply,” continued Mr Crockett.
“If you are unsure if your project is eligible, or how to apply for funding, please give us a call.”
Applications are accepted in five key areas: health and welfare, education and training, arts and culture, sport and recreation, and the environment.
Grant applications will be assessed against the Fund guidelines and the Fund Allocation Panel – comprised of community members, Pacific Hydro staff and a council representative – will review the applications and allocate the grants.
