Interested in finding out about Pacific Hydro’s Sustainable Communities Fund?

19 April 2012

Pacific Hydro’s Community Engagement Coordinator, Chloe Carpenter will address the 5th Annual Rural Summit at the Victoria Hotel in Port Fairy on Wednesday 18 April 2012.

Community groups and organisations interested in finding out more about Pacific Hydro’s Sustainable Communities Fund are invited to attend and hear details covering eligibility, the administration and application process.

“The Rural Summit provides an opportunity for Pacific Hydro to join other organisations, government and community groups in sharing ideas and strategies that will help to develop rural communities for the future,” said Ms Carpenter.

“This year’s Summit, taking place in the Moyne Shire in Victoria’s south west, will emphasise the need for rural Victorians to do things differently. It’s critical that rural communities equip themselves with the information and skills necessary to drive economic recovery and long term sustainability,” explained Ms Carpenter.

“I will provide information on our Sustainable Communities Fund and some of the detail around eligibility of projects and programs and will also be able to provide those attending with first-hand advice about the process with some tips on how to write a successful application,” Ms Carpenter said.

The Summit is designed to stimulate economic awareness and enable councils and communities to act collaboratively and create an environment where local business and civic enterprises flourish.

“I am looking forward to contributing to the discussions and hope that those attending are better equipped and more knowledgeable about Pacific Hydro and the Sustainable Communities Fund as well as other avenues enabling their rural communities to develop sustainable programs and practices to assist in their future prosperity and growth,” Ms Carpenter said.

The Rural Summit 2012 will take place at the Victoria Hotel in Port Fairy, starting on Wednesday 18 and continuing through to Friday 20 April. Visit  to read the program in more detail and make a booking.  The Rural Summit is proudly supported by Rural Councils Victoria.
