Cape Nelson North and Cape Sir William Grant wind farms

The last stage of the Portland Wind Energy Project, PWEP IV, covering two sites – Cape Nelson North and Cape Sir William Grant - was completed in 2015.

The project comprises 23 REpower turbines with a combined capacity of 47.2MW, which will generate around 153 GWh* of clean energy each year or enough power for the equivalent needs of around 31,000* Victorian homes. As part of the operation of the project, Pacific Hydro continues to invest in local community initiatives via the Sustainable Communities Fund.

If you live nearby the project and would like to be considered for the Visual Screening of Residences Program, please download a form and either email, fax or post back to Pacific Hydro as per details on the form. Expressions of Interest may be submitted up until the end of February, 2016. The following maps, found here and here, may help you identify how far away your property is from the wind farm.

For any complaints, enquiries, feedback about this project, please contact us at or 1800 730 734.

*these figures are based on a conservative average capacity factor for the project, the current Victorian emissions factor, and average energy consumption in Victoria per household per year of 5MWh.
