Congratulations Port Fairy!

29 November 2012

Port Fairy, the tiny seaside town nestled near to the Codrington and Yambuk Wind Farms has this week received an accolade that belies its small size, being named the World’s Most Liveable Town for 2012.

The LivCom award for the most liveable town with a population under 20,000 was announced at a special ceremony in the United Arab Emirates on Monday.

The honour will come to no surprise to south west residents, including local Pacific Hydro employees, who enjoy all that it has to offer.

The little town is known for its unspoilt beaches, city quality restaurants and cafes, great festivals, active community, pretty port and heritage buildings.

Pacific Hydro would like to congratulate the Moyne Shire Council, Port Fairy Tourism Association and members of the local community for their efforts in creating such a great place to live and work – the award is truly well deserved!
