Our people: natural talent
A great business needs talented people. Our people come from all
around the globe, drawing on many cultures, professions and
backgrounds to work together to power our organisation.
With offices across Australia/Pacific and Latin America, Pacific
Hydro is rapidly expanding as the demand for renewable energy and
carbon abatement solutions grows. Today, we employ more than 200
permanent staff, and this number is expected to grow by another 75
per cent as we strive to meet our corporate growth targets over the
next five years.
Two offices have been established in Brazil - Natal and Sao
Paulo - to support our development plans, while our offices in
Melbourne, Australia, and Santiago, Chile, have been refurbished to
accommodate increasing staff numbers and to ensure all employees
have access to a high quality, safe work environment.
Talent management is critical to our continued success. In an
increasingly competitive market place, attracting, developing and
retaining the best professionals is a key challenge. To this end,
each employee is provided the opportunity to undertake regular
training and development courses and, as a key part of their
responsibilities, all managers work with their employees to develop
a detailed yearly training and development plan.
To enhance communication and understanding across Pacific Hydro,
we provide Spanish lessons to all head office staff in Australia.
While in Chile and Brazil all staff are provided with the
opportunity to learn English.
To monitor the success of our human resources programs, we run
an annual employee opinion survey of all Pacific Hydro employees
globally. To date, the results have been extremely positive,
with our employees' job satisfaction consistently ranked in the
first quartile of all organisations surveyed.
