Rob Grant - Chief Executive Officer

Joined PHY in 1996 as Project Development Manager and became Chief Executive Officer in July 2005 following the acquisition of PHY by IFM. Previously worked in civil engineering construction as a Project Manager in Australia and South Africa. Holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and an MBA degree from Melbourne University and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

Paul Townsend - Chief Financial Officer

Joined PHY in February 2010 as Chief Financial Officer.  Has over 15 years experience in senior finance roles held in the resources and industrial sector. Prior to joining PHY held the CFO position for a  leading Australian supplier of automotive interior products with operations in Australia, China, South Africa and USA and the CFO position for a multipurpose sport and entertainment company within Australia. Holds a Bachelor of Business from Swinburne University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Janine Hoey - General Manager, Group Operations and Commercial

Joined PHY in 2004 as Executive Commercial Manager, was appointed as General Manager of PHY Chile in August 2005 and was the General Manager of PHY Latin America from September 2006 until February 2009. Has 25 years experience in general management, commercial and financial roles in Australia and overseas. Prior to joining PHY, held senior commercial and financial controller positions in the airline industry for over 10 years and also held the position of CFO for a large Singaporean publically listed hotel chain, with significant operations in Australia. Holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne, Australia and is a graduate of the AICD.

 

Markus Ziemer - General Manager, Corporate Services

Joined PHY in 2005 as general counsel, company secretary and is responsible for marketing and PHY's carbon services business. Has 17 years experience in corporate law and governance issues as well as broad experience in joint venture, project development and debt and equity market transactions. Has held inhouse counsel roles including general counsel and company secretary at Ashton Mining and senior counsel at Newcrest Mining. Holds a BA, LLB and MBA degrees from the University of Melbourne.

Lane Crockett - General Manager, Australia/Pacific

Joined PHY in December 2005 as Commercial Contracts Manager with over 20 years of international experience in the energy industries in Australia, Asia, the UK and New Zealand. Has worked in utilities regulation, managed the performance of electricity and gas alliance contracts and has led engineering, procurement and construction projects in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. Holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand and a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Law from Deakin University.

 

Doug Hattersley - General Manager, Engineering Services

Joined PHY in June 2007 as General Manager, Engineering services, supporting and overseeing all aspects of engineering design, procurement, contractual commerciality, risk assessment and project delivery of wind farm and hydro projects. He has 37 years of experience working on global infrastructure projects in Africa, Hong Kong, Latin America, New Zealand, Singapore, United States and Australia with particular experience in hydro power and geothermal development. He completed a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a graduate of the AICD.

 

José Antonio Valdes - General Manager, Chile

Joined PHY in 2004 and was responsible for the takeover and operation of the Coya and Pangal run-ofriver hydro power plants before being appointed General Manager of PHY Chile in 2006. More than 20 years experience in the Chilean electrical sector. Studied civil engineering at the Universidad de Chile and has completed postgraduate studies in corporate finance and project evaluation.

 

Mark G. Argar - General Manager, Brazil

Joined PHY in October 2007 and is responsible for leading the Brazil business unit. Former Australian Consul-General in Brazil and Peru, and Senior Trade Commissioner for Latin America for the Australian Government. 15 years of experience in the commercial sector in Australia, Guatemala, the Philippines, China and Taiwan, in information and communications technology, engineering services and heavy engineering. Has held senior management roles at ADI Ltd, Tenix Defense Pty Ltd and was a member of the Australian Government's Senior Executive Service. Holds a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Business Economics, an MBA and has completed doctoral studies in International Trade.
