Cape Bridgewater Wind Farm
This is an operating site
The 58MW Cape Bridgewater wind farm was the largest in Victoria
when completed in 2008. Not only is the project helping to build
south west Victoria's profile as the State's renewable energy hub,
it is has provided a significant boost to the local economy by
creating many direct and indirect jobs for local contractors during
its construction phase.
The wind farm is the second stage of the Portland Wind Energy
Project which covers four sites in the Portland area - at Yambuk,
Cape Bridgewater, Cape Sir William Grant and Cape Nelson.
The 58MW Wind Farm comprises 29, 2MW wind generators which
produce enough electricity to abate an estimated 237,000 tonnes of
greenhouse gases each year.
