Clements Gap Wind Farm
This project is under construction
Clements Gap Wind Farm was officially opened by South Australian
Premier Mike Rann on February 18, 2010.
The 56.7MW project is Pacific Hydro's first in South Australia
and was made possible thanks to proactive state government
policies, strong support from the Port Pirie Regional Council and
an enthusiastic community.
Located in South Australia's mid north Clements Gap Wind Farm
will produce electricity equivalent to the needs of around 30,000
homes annually and abate around 5 million tonnes of greenhouse gas
during the project's lifespan.
In keeping with our commitment to supporting local communities
much of the construction work was contracted locally and over the
lifespan of the project Pacific Hydro's Sustainable Communities
fund will inject more than $1 million into local community
organisations.
