Twelve projects from Alto Cachapoal Valley will be benefit with the US$80,000 of the fund Creciendo Juntos
In its 2008 version, the program
will benefit two initiatives related to health; one to environment;
six to community development; and three to education that will help
the communities that live in surrounding areas of Pacific Hydro´s
projects operation and development.
Coya, November 21st - With a ceremony
held at Bellavista school in Coya, which included the participation
of communal authorities, representatives of Alto Cachapoal Valley's
communities and executives from Pacific Hydro, the company honored
the selected projects of its community fund, Creciendo
Juntos.
In this opportunity, twelve out of thirty-five submitted
initiatives were selected: two related to health, one to
environment, six to community development and three to education
areas. These are going to be benefited with US$80,000 that the
company has available for 2008, for communities that live in the
surrounding areas of Pacific Hydro´s projects operations and
development. With the selected projects, the company is looking for
a contribution in an improvement in the life quality of these
people.
In its 2008 version, Creciendo
Juntos will benefit the locations of Coya, Perales,
Chacayes and Termas de Cauquenes.
The general manager of Pacific Hydro
Chile, José Antonio Valdés, commented "we are very proud because of
the excellent participation that this second version of
Creciendo Juntos had. This program represents our
long-term commitment in Chile, and especially in the VI Region. We
hope that each year, communities' participation in the fund gets
increased".
Selection process
Selection of projects was very
difficult because communities presented and developed initiatives
that were very interesting. The mission of evaluation was in charge
of a group of distinguished professionals, regional authorities and
executives of Pacific Hydro, who shaped four commissions: health,
education, environment and community development.
In the commission participated Regional Ministerial Secretary of
Education, Mario Avilés; Network health development service
department' advisor of O'Higgins, Doctor Héctor Muñoz; Rancagua
Regional Hospital Director, Fernando Soto; Mutual de Seguridad
Hospital Director, Carlos Ureta; Cachapoal Province Director of
Education Ministry, Ricardo Bocaz; Regional Culture Council
Director, Ximena Nogueira; and the expert in flora and fauna,
Eduardo Pavez; Regional Ministerial Secretary of Agriculture,
Horacio Merlet; representatives of CONAMA, Dino Figueroa; Regional
Ministerial Secretary of planning, Rosita Zacconni; Regional Museum
Director, Carmen del Río; Regional Ministerial Secretary of
Economy, Guillermo Acuña. Also, Pacific Hydro' executives such as
Health and Security Manager, Luis Rivera; Human Resources Manager,
Juan Pablo Villanueva; Environment Manager, Claudio Bedoya; and the
Operations one, Víctor López.
