Still time to apply for Codrington/Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund
Codrington/Yambuk area that there is
still time to submit an application for the Sustainable Communities
Fund which closes on 4 August.
Since the Fund opened in 2005, 28
community organisations in and around Port Fairy have received
grants totalling over $130,000.
Communications Manager, Emily Wood said
all community groups that require funding should get an application
in.
"If your group needs a project funded
there is still time to get your application in", said Ms Wood. "If
you're unsure if your project is eligible, just give us a
call."
Port Fairy Cycling Club coordinator
David Tozer agreed. "We weren't sure that we'd be successful, but
the application was really easy to complete and funding has
supported the 100km Road Cycling Championships in 2006, 2007 and
2008. I'd recommend all groups apply as they could be
successful."
Ms Wood says that while it is never
possible to fund all applications, grants are considered in line
with the fund guidelines and identified community priorities.
The fund, which is based on a
percentage of revenue from the Codrington and Yambuk Wind Farms
calls for applications each year and applications are invited in
the areas of health, education, sporting, environment and the
arts.
Application forms along with the
program guidelines and further information are available on Pacific
Hydro's website www.pacifichydro.com.au/fund or by calling
Community Fund Coordinator Chloe Carpenter on 03 8621 6428.
