Pacific Hydro invites community members to help us allocate the $50,000 Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund.
“In line with Pacific Hydro’s committed to ensuring transparency and that our host communities have ownership of the Sustainable Communities Fund we are implementing a Fund Allocation Panel which you can be a part of,” said Lane Crockett, Pacific Hydro’s General Manager for Australia.
The 2012 Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund opens on 7 August and closes on 19 September and now is the time to nominate yourself or a community member who you feel would be suitable.
“This is an exciting opportunity to have significant input into where the funds are allocated and ensure community priorities receive funding,” said Mr Crockett.
The Fund Allocation Panel will consist of the following members:
- Pacific Hydro’s Community Engagement Coordinator who will facilitate the panel but will not have voting rights
- Pacific Hydro’s Wind Farm Manager – Shaun Blackie
- Three self nominated staff members from Pacific Hydro
- Four self nominated community members and
- One Council staff member who works with community groups
The self nominated panel members from the Community and Pacific Hydro will be rotated on an annual basis. A call for nominations will be announced approximately two months before the Fund opens each year.
If you’re interested in helping to allocate the $50,000 Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund please contact our Community Engagement Coordinator, Chloe Carpenter on 03 8621 6428 or firstname.lastname@example.org,” said Mr Crockett.
Preference will be given to community members who have significant knowledge of the area and the needs of the community.
