Codrington and Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund application period closing soon

23 May 2012

With just over one week left before the closing date for the $50,000 Codrington/Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund on June 5, Pacific Hydro is urging community groups not to leave their  application to the last minute.

“Applications for the Codrington and Yambuk Sustainable Communities Fund close on Tuesday June 5”, said General Manager for Australia, Mr Lane Crockett. “To ensure applications are in on time, it’s a great idea to get started on them this week.”

Community groups and organisations operating in the Codrington, Yambuk, Port Fairy, Orford, Kirkstall and Koroit townships are eligible to receive funding.

“If your group or organisation is working on socially or environmentally sustainable projects and needs funding we encourage you to get your application in by June 5 and if you have any questions, our Community Fund Coordinator is available on phone or via email to assist with any queries you may have,” said Mr Crockett.

Mr Crockett said that while it is often not possible to fund all applications, grants are considered in line with the Fund guidelines and identified community priorities.

The Fund will consider projects across the areas of sport, health, education, environment and the arts.

Community groups who have not applied for funding in previous years are encouraged to apply.

“If you are unsure if your project is eligible, or how to apply for funding, give us a call,” said Mr Crockett.
