Clements Gap Sustainable Communities Fund: Call for applications
6 March 2012
The $50,000 Clements Gap Sustainable Communities Fund is open now until 17 April and Pacific Hydro is calling for applications from community groups operating in the area.
Pacific Hydro’s General Manager for Australia, Mr Lane Crockett, encouraged community groups working towards a socially and environmentally sustainable future to submit an application.
“The Fund is designed to support a wide range of initiatives. Local community groups and organisations operating in the Clements Gap, Crystal Brook, Redhill, Port Broughton and Mundoora townships should consider applying,” said Mr Crockett.
Now in its fourth year, the Clements Gap Sustainable Communities Fund has delivered almost $150,000 into 41 projects benefiting the local communities around Clements Gap wind farm.
“Pacific Hydro is proud to operate in the Clements Gap area and we are always impressed with the dedication and commitment of local community groups who work tirelessly to implement projects that benefit local residents,” said Mr Crockett.
The Fund is accepting applications between 6 March and 17 April 2012 and is available annually for the operating life of the Clements Gap wind farm. Applications are accepted across five funding areas: sport, art, health and safety, environment and education.
If your community group is working on projects that support local social and environmental sustainability and you’re looking for funding, why not download an application form and the Fund guidelines or contact Community Engagement Coordinator, Chloe Carpenter, on 03 8621 6428 for more details.
“Our Community Engagement Coordinator is available to help with the application process and community groups with questions are encouraged to contact her,” added Mr Crockett.
Applications must be received by 5pm Tuesday 17 April 2012 to be considered in this year’s round of funding.
