Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund application period closing soon
11 September 2012
With just two weeks until the $50,000 Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund closes, Pacific Hydro is urging community groups not to leave their application to the last minute.
“Applications for the Ararat Sustainable Communities Fund must be received by Tuesday 18 September,” said General Manager for Australia, Mr Lane Crockett. “To ensure applications are in on time, it’s a great idea to get started on them this week.”
Community groups and organisations operating in the Ararat Rural City implementing projects across sport, health, education, environment and the arts are eligible to receive funding.
“If your group or organisation is working on socially and environmentally sustainable projects that need funding, we encourage you to get your application in by 18 September. And if you have any questions, our Community Engagement Coordinator is available on 03 8621 6428 or firstname.lastname@example.org,” said Mr Crockett.
Grant applications will be assessed against the Fund guidelines and identified community priorities. For the first time this year a Fund Allocation Panel comprised of four community members, Pacific Hydro staff and a Council representative will review the applications.
“The Fund Allocation Panel we create another opportunity to give even greater transparency to the short-listing process,” said Mr Crockett. “The inclusion of community members on the panel, who have volunteered their time to assist in assessing applications, is fantastic.”
Community groups who have not applied for funding in previous years are encouraged to apply.
“If you are unsure if your project is eligible, or how to apply for funding, give us a call,” said Mr Crockett.
