People: the lifeblood of our company

Pacific Hydro was formed in 1992 by three hydro electrical engineers working from a small office in suburban Melbourne. Though our company is now a significant player on the international stage, one thing remains unchanged: our belief in renewable energy and our passion for our industry.

As an Australian company, we stand out in the overseas market, and our proactive style and refreshingly straight-forward approach is held in high regard by our partners and investors.

Our core employees are a diverse and expert team. Their experience is vast but what unites them is a genuine desire to make a difference and a commitment to meeting our economic, environmental and social responsibilities.

While Pacific Hydro has more than 100 direct employees, we have generated a much larger indirect work force through our projects and operations, both in Australia and overseas.

Project Engineer, Chile

When I was offered the chance to join Pacific Hydro, I didn’t think twice. Being part of a small company with big opportunities in Chile, you have the opportunity to really drive things and be part of its history. Every person is a key element of the organisation and helps develop Pacific Hydro as not only a leader in renewable energy in Chile but worldwide.

“There’s a growing consciousness about environmental issues and greenhouse gases, and Pacific Hydro is one step ahead in the responsible development of renewable energy projects. A unique strength of the company, this sense of responsibility is much more than just an environmental concern, and ensures a safe, healthy environment for the employees, contractors and communities where Pacific Hydro operates.”
