Our Business

Renewable energy is the answer to powering a sustainable future and Pacific Hydro is in the business of making that future a reality.

While interest continues to mount in geothermal, wave, solar, biomass and other emerging technologies, wind and water stand tall at the forefront of the renewable market.

Pacific Hydro boasts over 700MW in hydro projects either installed or under development, and while we’ll continue to develop several projects in Australia, our focus over the next five years will be on the key emerging markets we’ve identified internationally.

We’ve established significant joint ventures in both Chile and Fiji and already these partnerships are not only operating successful projects but have also earned recognition in the carbon trading market.

Our hydro future will see us exploring opportunities across Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.

On the other side of our renewable coin, we currently have more than 1,000MW of potential wind developments in Australia.

In addition to our three operating wind farms in Victoria, we plan to progress 500MW of new developments over the next 5 years and keep the balance of our potential wind farm sites across Australia until the time and market are right to develop them further.

We recently moved into the Brazilian energy market following our acquisition of German wind company SES Ltda and we’re looking for new development opportunities across Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
